It doesn't take him long to locate something that looks like a control panel, and even less time after that to dig out the little toolkit he was given before setting out. ]

It would be best if we could get them on and use them to analyze these machines, but if that doesn't work then just harvesting them directly should be helpful.
[Trying to analyze anything would be difficult. Just trying to access someone else's scroll at home was difficult without a password. He supposes there are ways to force the answer, but that's a little beyond what they're trying to do. They don't want to break it. Just study it.
